An earthquake of magnitude 6, 3 hit Christchurch, second city in New Zealand. According to the Prime Minister, the toll is at least 65 dead. It could be revised upwards. The state of emergency was declared.

At least 65 people have died in A massive earthquake (magnitude 6.3) that struck Christchurch, second city in New Zealand today (24:51 local time 11:51 p.m. GMT). The earthquake was followed by several aftershocks ranging up to 5.6 in intensity. This is the worst earthquake in that country for 80 years. The state of emergency was declared.
